If they didn't have Kipper they wouldn't be anywhere.

I won't go so far as to say they suck, but if they don't do something about their offence (or lack there of), they had better hope Kipper stays healthy.
I think if Edmonton could swing a trade for Kipper - something Straight up, like Conklin for Kipper, they would be unbeatable. Of course, Sutter would be out of a job and I'm sure they would riot in the streets of Calgary. __________________AllOneTrip:

Yes, you're right the offence sucks for Calgary. What happened to Iggy, he would place in 3 or 4th on the Oilers in scoring.
On the plus side, Calgary's two offensive players - Iginla and Phaneuf both hail from the Edmonton Area.

If only we had a goaltender...Boo-Hoo. If the Flames suck that bad, why are they 4 points ahead of the Oilers and 1st in the NW division?

Against ANAHEIM...they still needed Kipper as the first star. I guess it is Anaheim - but they should be able to beat St. Louis!

Well, it wasn't a great game for the Flames despite their win, but they are still able to pull out some wins. I would like to see an Edmonton/Calgary tie for 1st, but 4 points is not too bad. Just think last played season the Oilers didn't make the playoffs and Calgary for 8 seasons prior. Now they are both in the hunt not just for a spot, but for 1st in their divisions!!!
Way to go for the new NHL. __________________AllOneTrip:

The Flames lack of offense is pretty strange, especially when you look down the team standings and compare GF and GA. Calgary has one of the lowest goals for records in the league.
As for Iggy and Phaneuf being from Edmonton area, I think the NHL would be cooler if you could only play for the city you grew up in (or closest to). Of course, it would never fly (where would the Europeans play?), but it would be cool, and most American teams would suck!

Well, I'm not sure the lack of offense is strange - the flames really focused on grit rather than offense, which is what got them to the Stanley Cup finals the last season - and much to the Oilers' chagrin it hasn't worked to bad for them this year either.
I saw a graphic on the last Oilers Flames game that listed 6 Flames in the last game coming from the Edmonton area. On www.NHL.com they had a story that said Edmonton had the most players active in the NHL - so Edmonton would probably be an awesome team. I think Calgary would do alright as well - I know Jason Smith on the Oilers is from Calgary. __________________AllOneTrip:
