by Advertising. It used to be a great site. An amazing tool for Artists, performers, Friends, and promoters to be heard, get their word out and just communicate.
But now, a once incomeless site has now sold out and continues to bombard users with advertising, slow loading screens and technical issues all cause of flash adverts for 'Free new Apple iphone' to 'Season premier of The OC'. Why can't we get the goods without the hype? |

Yeah - its gonna be the same everywhere. YouTube already has tons of ads and is about the revenue generation. I guess if we wanna keep things free somebody has to pay...
I know alot of these sites tried with donations when they first started up - but no one ever donates - its too bad.

Definitely somehthing I've noticed too... unfortunately that's just what life online is becoming now. I especially love the news sites, the sites that are supposed contain unbiased journalism... that make you watch a 30 second commercial before you get to watch the news story. Now that is totally wrong. But again, just something I've unfortunately come to expect. Representative of society's values clearly.

I think I had this conversation recently....sucks. Gov't/Corporations/Media can't control the flow of information to you...although they tried through your internet provider, but they can give you what you want wrapped in a shiny pretty package of their message.
And google advertising....I have to sift through rudimentary sites with google advertising on the page just to get to a good site with some real content...all for a few pennies to some dood, cause I clicked on that little blue heading. |
